Outreach & Science Communication
I actively engage in public outreach and science communication to bridge research, art, and society. I presented gravitational wave science in German at the Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften, and regularly participate in initiatives that help refine my communication skills. Echoing Feynman, true understanding comes from the ability to explain complex concepts simply. I have given outreach talks at the TORCH Gallery in Amsterdam and the ESTEC Art Club. I contributed to inclusive outreach by using sonifications of gravitational like the following one. I also like to create animations to illustrate complex astrophysical phenomena. Below is an example of an Extreme Mass Ratio Inspiral (EMRI) animation I created to visualize the inspiral of a stellar-mass black hole into a supermassive black hole, showcasing the intricate gravitational wave. If you want to create animations like the ones above, use the code here: EMRI_Animation GitHub Repository
